Dao Yin (Daoist Yoga) - An Ancient Way of Preserving Life
Dao Yin means The Way of the Physical Form and refers to the guiding and stretching of the body. This class involves gentle movements combined with deep breathing and focused mental guiding of energy throughout the body. Some of the movements are similar to yoga asanas, as they share a common history. While these movements share a history with the Vedic traditions, the science and philosophy is rooted in the Daoist traditions of Chinese Medicine and the 5 Elements. Many of the movements are recommended to clear and tonify the vital organs and prepare the body for the changing of the seasons. This class is recommend for individuals who are seeking to increase their health and longevity and also for those who are recovering from injuries and/or seeking a greater range of motion in a gentle way.
